All About Us
The first interest meetings and bible study were held in the home of our pastor Richard Malivuk in Northdale. The Florida Synod officially called Pastor Malivuk on September 6, 1983. During that time period of December 1983 to May 1984, Pastor Malivuk knocked on the doors of 10,000 homes in the Northdale, Carrollwood and Lutz areas. In August of 1983 land was purchased fronting Van Dyke Road one mile west of Dale Mabry as a site for the future church. Thereafter the meetings were moved to Claywell Elementary School music room and the first official worship service was held at Claywell Elementary School on May 20, 1984 with 55 adults and 33 children in attendance.
On June 2, 1985 the congregation moved to the temporary facility, a large residence, 4619 Van Dyke Rd., leased from Ward and Jean Dougherty. The previously selected site for the new church was renegotiated for the current land at 53l5 Van Dyke Rd. in July 1988. Construction began on June 27, 1989, and with the help of God and the hands of the membership it was completed on February 23, 1990. On March 4, 1990, the first worship service was conducted in the new sanctuary.
The current membership figure is about 500 and our members come from all over the North Tampa area, Keystone, Odessa, New Port Richey, Palm Harbor, Land O Lakes, Wesley Chapel, Zephryhills, Valrico, Dover, as well as Citrus Park, Carrollwood and Northdale.
